3 Lessons I’ve Learned About Being an Entrepreneur

Lauren McComb 3 Lessons About Being An Entrepreneur

When it comes to being an entrepreneur, there is no such thing as “overnight success.”

Being a self-starting business person can be equal parts challenging and rewarding. After all, when it comes to living out your dreams, you are the only person standing in the way. It’s up to you to create your own destiny and to forge the path ahead. Once you unlock this realization, your potential is limitless!

When I first started my business four years ago, I certainly didn’t have all the right answers. In fact, it felt at times like I didn’t know what I was doing at all! Then, I realize how far I’ve come and how much I’ve learned along the way, and I am amazed by my growth. The truth is success is all in the eye of the beholder.

Here are 3 Lessons I’ve Learned about Being an Entrepreneur.

1. Start with Gratitude

Every morning, I like to start my day with gratitude. I reflect on all the positive things going right in my life, and I try to tune out any negativity or self-doubt that might be impacting my mood. I’ve found that by making time for positive thinking each morning, I actually set myself up for success for the rest of the day. Simply by embracing positive energy, I set myself on course to overcome obstacles and manifest great things.

In order to become a successful entrepreneur, it is so important to make time for gratitude. After all, appreciating the little wins is just as important as celebrating the big ones. I promise, if you make your happiness and overall positivity a priority in your life, you will find your career so much more rewarding.

2. Consistency Is Key

When it comes to growing or starting a business, one of the most important skills you can learn is consistency—especially when faced with a challenge. It’s easy to want to quit when the pressure is on or when aren’t going your way. But it’s in this moment that we have to remind ourselves of that old saying, “If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again.”

I’ve found the best way for me to manage my productive lifestyle is with a consistent schedule. Starting each day with gratitude, moving my body, and Premium Fuel helps me get into the right headspace to tackle whatever my day throws at me. I also like to write down my daily “wins” in my 5 Minute Journal every night. Not only does this help me remember what I’ve accomplished, but it also helps me remember my goals.

3. Stay Future-Focused

The saying “good things come to those who wait” was definitely not written by an entrepreneur. The truth is that real success takes tremendous dedication, persistence, and time. If being a self-made person were easy, everyone would do it. What separates those who find success from those who don’t is the work they put in behind the scenes.

To be Future-Focused means to lean into challenges by seeing them as important and necessary steps. Keeping in mind where you are heading will help you stay the course even when road blocks or setbacks get in the way. That is why having a clear vision of what you want to accomplish is so important. Believing in yourself and sticking to your convictions will propel you towards amazing success.

Remember that being an entrepreneur is all about meeting risks head on and forging ahead even when it gets tough. I promise that if you start with gratitude and maintain a positive outlook on the future, you will achieve amazing things!
