Getting Started with Ketones – It Really is Simple!

The number one question I am asked about ketones is – How do I start?  I think people often expect me to give them a giant grocery list, tell them a workout routine, and tell them all the things they have to cut out of their lives in order for this to work.  In short, they over complicate the process. Drinking ketones simplifies your life in so many ways. Want to know the most important step?

Just drink them.

It really is that simple! If you have the powered packets of NAT or the liquid capsules (available in Mexico) all you have to do is open it, mix it with ice and water (to taste) and shake it up.  Then drink it.  If you have the carbonated Keto Up in a can you literally only have to open the can and go.  The most important step in the whole process is just to get the ketones into your system.

How fast should you drink it?

Typically I suggest you drink the ketones within 20-30 min if you want the full power of the effects. 

Do I have to workout?

Short answer – no.  Ketones will increase your energy so you should find yourself naturally being more active, but feel free to keep it simple.  Go on a walk for the day or walk around your house.  The more intentional extra movement you do the more glucose you will work out of your system, but there is no workout routine required for ketones to be effective.  That being said, if you have fat loss goals or muscle building goals a good workout routine could be the perfect addition to your ketones and extra energy.

How do I have to eat?

However you feel best.  Again, simply drinking ketones should have change some of your cravings and appetite. The beauty of the drinks is that they are diet independent.  I always support healthy eating choices, but there is not a specific meal plan you have to follow.  That being said, we do offer some great, ready to eat, delivered to your doorstep, organic and hormone free, carb conscious meals that you can heat up in less than 5 minutes.  If adding a meal delivery service would help you simplify your life we have that available.

How much water do I drink?

More than usual.  As your body pulls fluids from your system you may find yourself feeling a little more dehydrated.  The simple fix would be to drink more water and add an electrolyte like MitoPlex.  The general rule is to drink half of your body weight in ounces of water per day.  So if you weighed 100lbs you should drink 50 ounces of water in the day.  That is majorly over simplifying it, but it is a great place to start!
