Celebrate National Donut Day with These Tasty Keto Donuts

Lauren McComb Keto Donut Recipe

Happy National Donut Day!

It may seem like a funny holiday to celebrate, but in our house, donuts are a serious treat. Since Dustin and I maintain a mostly keto lifestyle and try to avoid giving the kiddos too many sweets, so donuts are definitely something special for us.

When I heard National Donut Day was coming up, I wanted to see if there was a keto-friendly recipe that could satisfy our donut cravings without over indulging too much. It turns out, there is!

This keto recipe is definitely one of my new favorites. Mostly because they’re easy to bake and the kids can help decorate them however they want! It’s the perfect family project for a Friday night.

Check out the recipe below and be sure to comment on this post to tell me how yours turned out!

Ingredients:

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Grease a 12 count donut pan generously. Set aside.
  3. In a mixing bowl, mix the almond flour, sweetener, and baking soda. In a separate bowl add eggs, apple cider vinegar & coconut or almond milk
  4. Combine the dry and wet ingredients, and mix well until combined.
  5. Bake the donuts for 12-15 minutes until browned. Remove pan from oven & allow it to cool. (Wait about 5 mins before transferring to wire rack).
  6. If desired, you can frost the donuts before decorating. To make my glaze, I mixed Swerve powdered sugar with a little water. I also melted some Lily’s chocolate chips and white chocolate chips with MCT 143 for others.

I can’t wait to hear about all of your creations!

xo,
Lauren
