Why Resistance Training is crucial for your HEALTH

I used to think lifting weights would make you big and bulky. I was completely wrong! I lifted weights here and there throughout my fitness journey but never really got into it.

Until this past year when I decided to compete in my very first NPC Bikini show. There is a big misconception with lifting weights and thinking that it is going to make you big.

Lifting weights helps firm, lift and shape your body. It can also increase your lean muscle mass which will support increasing your metabolism.

Lifting heavier amounts of weights for less reps is going to help you build more strength. Just remember that form is the most important thing when you are lifting. 

Paying attention to form will help you avoid injuries while getting the most benefits.

I used to be nervous to step into a gym out of fear. I didn’t know where to start or begin. We all start somewhere between scared and nervous when we are new to anything. When you live in a state of gratitude, fear can’t exist!

My favorite weight workout is weighted hip thrusts. They really build up your glutes, hamstrings, and quads. I also find them fun!! Do the things that make you smile always. When you smile through your workouts they feel 10x better!
